Who's there?

I quickly sketched this man last night to add more work into my exam coursework for mystery and imagination.
Although I haven't actually finished it yet, I doo really like the expression I managed to catch in the face.
It also makes me chuckle abit too...!

Stunning Sky's

One morning in winter I woke up to these incredible view's from my room,
the picture really gives them no credit...AT ALL!!!

Birds. :>

Last summer whilst busking I played the song 'Birds' by Kate Nash so many times that it just seemed odd for it to be the only song I didn't remember when I picked up my guitar. When I re-learnt it, it brought back all of the memories from last summer and from standing in the street singing this every other song, whilst being literally surrounded by pigeons. Although when an elderly couple or a 2 year old walked past I very quickly had to blank out the word 'shit', (Birds can fly so high, and they can 'shit' on your head.) if I didn't do so then I would get verbally abused for foul language. So many close escapes in Hull...!

Exam: Fears, Phobia's and Superstitions. 2

These are some old images that I've recently found from my art exam last year.
The title of the exam was fears, phobias and superstitions. I have a strong fear of drowning so my idea behind these photographs was to show claustrophobia through the medium of water.
I created them by filling a bath with warm water and getting in fully clothed, then a large, thick sheet of plastic was pressed tightly against my face so i quite literally could not breathe, see or hear a thing my only communication with the photographer was knocking on the bath!
I love the haunting way that these photographs have turned out, no editing needed.

Exam: Fears, Phobia's and Superstitions.

As you should do in an exam situation I got overly obsessed with this image. Un fortunatly it annoys me how much quality of the pictures you loose when you take a photograph of them, but still meeehhhh... its just a little snippet for you.
I hope they have made you think...

During this process I looked quite closely at afew of Bill Viola's instillations for inspiration..
here is one that I closely linked my work to.

= Would You Understand?

I drew this sketch afew days ago now after looking through my chemistry notes, in reality i understand the actual equation. But I have no idea what it actually means...= would you understand?

The beauty of it.

The beauty of it.

I was told by one of my teachers to go away and experiment with block colours and images, by taking a look at some of the works by Robert Rauschenberg. But me being me I diversed away from this idea, and in doing so I came across some beautiful pieces by Fiona Rae.

Her subbtle tones with a mix of spray paint and acrylic together really hit me so instead I thought I would have a go at re-creating one.

This was my out come I was very happy with the way that the water down acrylics came out like water colours. :)

Although my book has been left water logged it was deffinatly worth it and I hope to experiment with this style of work alot more on larger canvas' in the future.
I have the choice of being...

constantly active and happy or...

or introspectively passive and sad...

Or i can go mad by ricochating in-between.

I must be mad in Sylvia's view.

These selection of mono-prints came to me whilst looking through some of Tracey Emins work.

I also mixed mine in with a famous quote by Sylvia Plath. As i have a new found love of her work to. I have quite afew more mono prints that I would like to put up but unfortunatly i dont have them on me at this particular moment.  :(

Cassie.

These are some sketches Ive just found, that I did around 2 years ago now!!!
They are all of cassie from skins, from the first seires (the best series) she is deffinatly the one that I can relate to alot more.
It has annoyed the heck out of me that the images will not go the rightt wayyy round :/ but, fuck it. I've tried everything.

Once Upon A Time, There Was A Young Girl Named Georgie.

Once Upon A Time...There Was A Young Girl Named Georgie,
One night when she was fast asleep, she had the most beautiful dream,

That a strange man ran into her room.

This man searched and searched till his fingers almost dropped off. Georgie just couldn't understand what he was looking for!

Then out of the blue he just held an imaginary balloon, in which Georgie took off him.

She sat for days on end wondering what this balloon could do and why it was so special to her...

Suddenly the balloon lit up with all the colours of the rainbow and for once in her life Georgie just didn't know what to think.

As the balloon glided into the atmosphere Georgie's imagination flew with it.

When she came out of her imagination she could no-longer think for her self.

 ...

And from this day on the only way that you could capture her imagination was by drawing her. So that's what she decided to do. She drew and drew all day long until her fingertips turned blue.

THE END.

(THIS IS A QUICK PIECE OF WORK THAT I JOINED TOGETHER. THE PHOTOS ARE ALL FROM MY NEW PHOTOGRAPHY EXAM, TITLED MYSTERY & IMAGINATION.)
